Have a friend measure while you stand straight. Tilt your head forward to find C7 (the bony bump at the base of your neck). For the belt, measure around your hips at that same height, which sits a little above your pant waist.

Keep your gear dry and your back comfortable.

The Flex PR pairs a 50L dry bag with a removable suspension system, and it also carries popular portage barrels. Whether you're portaging on a canoe trip, hunting or doing trail maintenance, your gear stays dry and your accessories stay handy.

It uses the same suspension as our lightweight packs, so it carries heavy loads without being a heavy pack.

The Flex PR, the perfect bag for Packrafting.

With so many bags on the market that don’t have packrafters in mind the flex pr has really been developed with everything that a packrafter needs.

The dry bag harness has been designed really well so you can carry many different types of dry bags on side from smaller dry bags like a 50l up to a 75l+ bag or even a solid barrel.

The harness is comfy to wear, you can carry a fishing rod or water bottle in the side pouches, plenty of space for your wet gear in the zip able pocket on the front, pouch for your paddle and you can mount the packraft on the top of the bag or bottom.

    A perfect bag for Packrafting.

    Versatile Backpack

I used the Flex PR to packraft up to West Ute Lake on the CDT this summer. The great suspension made the load comfortable and the paddle pocket was very handy. I enjoyed using the detaching side pockets plus the convenient stretch pocket on the back. It was great to catch cutthroat trout out in the middle of the lake!

    Converted Skeptic

I was skeptical. My trusty pack was in need of replacing after 20 years of backpacking (7 of which included packrafting). The FLEX PACK PR was significantly lighter but I feared it did not have adequate comfort, volume or stability for my latest adventure: a 10-day solo packraft trip in Alaska.

With all the well thought out features and the external straps/attachment points I was able to load up all my gear (47 lbs!) comfortably. After 42 miles of hiking and 52 miles of paddling I am a true convert! It's amazingly comfortable and stable on the trail or boat. I love the elegant pack board concept; brilliant!

    Great product, it's a winner.

    Great design upgrades

I've been using the Flex Pack on packrafting (and backcountry ski) trips since it first came out a few years ago, and was stoked to see the new design improvements in the Flex PR.

On a recent trip to hike/packraft/raft the length of the John Day River in Oregon I got to put the new pack to the test. The new strap configurations gave me countless ways to load the pack, and I was able to find just the right way to carry a very heavy load (boat, PFD, paddle, helmet & gear all add up! Packrafting is definitely not ultralight).

The new paddle pocket on the front of the pack is probably my favorite new feature, and the expanded front zipper pocket gave me the extra room to stash items I wanted to access during the day...these pockets are invaluable.

I can see this being a go-to for any trip with large loads, awkwardly shaped items, or ski trips (there are probably 10 ways you could strap skis on), and the dry bag body of the pack simplifies keeping your gear dry too. Win win!

    4 Stars

Great backpack and paired with my MRS Microraft XL perfect for a 5 day trip. I have the 50 and 70 liter bags to go with it and the 50 liter bag did its job for the length of trip. Deducting one star for the ungodly amount of straps and lengths. I understand this makes the pack very customizable and versatile, but some straps like the ones on the belt seem like they could have been one thicker strap rather than 2 separate straps. That would have reduced how chaotic it felt managing all the leftover hanging strap lengths. Maybe for future iterations of this type of pack consider potential strap redundancy.
